Click the image to see it full size. When it comes to Romanian average salaries and income, aggregate figures can be easily misleading. The chart above illustrates the income distribution of 2005 and shows basically, that more than 50% did earn strictly less than the average salary of the same year (280 EUR) while over 70% earned up to the average salary of 280-300 EUR. Obviously the average is risen by some very few top earners and the mean in Romania reacts quite sensible to this extremely unequal income distribution.
